Hämorrhoiden just like any other medical condition is preventable. One of the key preventive measures is to ensure that you take a diet rich in fiber. Further, you should keep hydrated by taking lots of fluids. By so doing, you will avoid having constipation which is a major cause for hemorrhoids. Stool will pass easily as it will be soft and therefore there will be no damage of blood vessels around the anus caused by straining during bowel movement. It is also highly recommended that one should exercise regularly by for example walking. This will reduce pressure on the rectum which may be caused by sitting for too long. One should also avoid staying for too long in the toilet while attempting to pass stool as one may exert too much pressure and strain the anal blood vessels while trying too hard to pass stool.
While hemorrhoids may sometimes be caused by factors beyond one’s control, the above prevention measures go a long way in helping one avoid contacting this condition.
